  • Core Installation on Virtualbox

I have been working with a Core Installation on Virtualbox for the past few days. However, I am running into an issue when I try to install the Guest Additions for Virtualbox. I am getting a "Installation Aborted" during the installation. The NIC on the 2008 will not work properly until the Guest Additions are loaded.

Does anyone else have a successful installation of 2008 Core on Virtualbox with Guest Additions? Or has anyone else encountered this error and a solution?

I have attached a picture with the error.

I don't think it's possible because core doens't allow to install you any software except some services from windows (eg, dc, dhcp, IIS, dns)

Yeah, I had a feeling that it wouldn't allow the installation of software. That's a shame.

Question though, how do you install AV software if it doesn't allow software installations?

            Re: Core Installation on Virtualbox

even though Server core is not desgined in GUI it does support the development of management tools, utilities, and agents, so as the post from the AV vendor states you can install AV on it ( can you imagein a server without AV )
and core has still some l
