  • need more than 75 users for SBS2003

    Hello.

our sbs2003 enviorment needs more than 75 users fairly quick. in the long run i want to migrate from sbs2003 / exchange 2003 to server 2008 and exchange 2007 on different servers.

For now i would prefere to just add a 2008 server as a second domain controller. Will that allow me to have more than 75 users?

    Thanks for your response.

    No.
    It is a hard limit.
I believe it is concurrent users though so it would only cause problems if you need more users at the same time as the others.
You will need to up your time plan for the migration it seems.
    cheers

Hello. Thank you for your reply.

Yes it would seem so. I am a bit unsure on how to procede with the migration.

I was told the recomended way was to setup a new domain and then migrate using admt 3.1 beta. i must admit i would very much like to find another solution, setting up a new domain and use a beta app to migrate dosent sound very appealing.

the second post in this thread shows another way, i dont understand when in that process i can get more than 75 users connected?

Any other way of temporarily upping the 75 user limit on sbs2003?

I don't know of a way of upping the limit and I suspect, if it existed, it wouldn't be legal anyway.

There are a few posts in the SBS folder on this forum and elsewhere that may be worth a look

Additionally to this, if you really ARE an MVP, you should know better than to ask for ways to exceed the limitations which are imposed upon you by the software's EULA.

I totally agree. Thread closed, and consider yourself warned. As a side note, I would like you to reply to the personal message I've sent you.
