  • IIS to Log Data on a Remote Share

this is a feature new in IIS 6.0.
Does anyone have any benchmarks on how it would affect storage and network if I write IIS logfiles of more than 10 servers simultaniously to a network share, when each log file has a approx. size of 1,5GB per day?
    Is this realistic?

    1.5GB / day * 10 = 15,000,000/24 = 625,000 / 60 = (~10MB/min) / 60 = 173KB/s (1.388 Mb/s)

    ...

    Removed because I fubar'd it.

      Thanks a lot.

      But isn't 15GB/24 = 625MB / hr (~10MB/m) = 0.16MB/s ?

Doh you're right just looked back and I didn't account for seconds.

Would be 1388kbit /s if I had accounted for seconds - big doh! That's what I get for posting while doing stuff at work.

            Sorry to have misled you.
