    Here are some simple steps:

    1. Add 2003 server to 2000 domain and promote to DC
    2. Wait for replication to occur from 2000 to 2003 server
    3. Transfer FSMO roles from 2000 to 2003 (http://www.petri.com/transferring_fsmo_roles.htm)
    4. If you DC is also a DNS and DHCP server ensure these roles are transitioned across to the 2003 server (DNS should already be set-up as it's a DC)
    5. Move any shares / user profiles etc across to 2003
    6. Switch off 2000 server for a few days to see if all user are OK
    7. Any problems switch 2000 back on and resolve.

Sorry for the quick notes, but I'm leaving work soon

    Thanks
