  • DHCP Exclusion range - Description Field

    Hi,

I have a Server 2003 domain with DHCP. For reasons I'm not going to bore you with, I have several exclusions setup. When I create the exclusion, the description field gets populated with the "IP Address excluded from distribution" comment. I want to be able to put something meaningful into the description field to identify it's purpose.

So, how to I populate the description field for a DHCP eclusion range.

    Thanks

    K

I don't have a 2003 server here but in Windows 2000 the descritpion field is customizable.

Can you not delete the existing text and enter your own??

Unfortunately not. On existing exclusions, you only have the option to delete or refresh and when you create a new one, it just asks you for the ip addresses.

Strange that no one else has had this issue. I'm worried it's something really obvious that I'm missing but I don't think so!!
