  • Windows 2000 Server Shares/Printers

The Windows 2000 Server is a domain contoller. Cannot open the Printers folder. Workstations cannot connect to the printers on that Server. Recently ran a Windows Update. Can't see anything relevant in the Event Logs.

Oh Workstations can connect to other shares on the Server. But the Server can see the rest of the network, but can't browse other servers.

    Hope someone can help.

    Regards
    Julia

What Service Pack is running on it?
How or who are you logged on?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

      Hi Biggles
SP4 and logged on as Administrator. No other workstations can connect to the Printers.

What do the workstation Event Logs say?
Is the Print Spooler running on the server?
What does the Event Viewer on the server say? Any errors?

What do you mean you can't open the printers folder?? Do you mean locally or remotely??

Can you connect to the printer by typing the name of the printer in the box when adding it??

Can you connect to it via a web page??
