  • Win2K Messenger popups

We are using Windows 2000 Adv Server, as our file & print server and as it contains user data files which eventually gets infected with viruses and gets cleaned automatically on server using McAfee Viruscan.
Because of this each time the antivirus cleans the files or deletes the infected file , there is an an alert popup from "Windows Messenger Service", which does not go away untill we click O.K, the situation becomes annoying when there are hundereds of popups in queue waiting to be clicked.

Is there a way to clear all such alerts in one shot as I cannot stop the service.

    Thanks in advance

Disable the "messenger service" under the server's services. You can find this by opening administrative tools and running the services.mmc
