  • Hello and info

I'm new to the forum so please be kind if I'm asking a question that's been answered.

I'm upgrading a file server from 2k to 2k3 and I don't want to move any data. The server hosts users’ home drives, but no apps. I'm looking for any tips and issues you may have. Microsoft doesn't seem to have much info on the process and I can not have this server down. I backup up weekly and I plan on doing a second backup up of the system partition before I move forward.

    Thanks.

There should be no problems with this - a straight forward upgrade.

Just make sure your back up and restore stratergy works fine before you go ahead.

It's just a member server. I'm doing it because shadow copy would prevent time consuming restores.
