  • Problem at workstations in domain after setup AD with incorrect TCP/IP settings

    I setup AD with DNS at w2k3 server, but before install I not point preferred dns to itself and not check "register this connection's addresses in DNS".
    Therefore in DNS span-in will not created four need srv record.
    After fix (set DNS to itself, check checkbox) and netlogon stop/start, srv records are appear in span-in.

    I add winXP in domain, restart. Then I try to add to local admin group domain user in dialog windows in field "Location" I can select only local PC.

    How I can Fix this?

    I setup AD with correct settings for test and all be OK, in "Location" I can select AD Catalog or local PC...

    Reboot the server & eyn netdiag, dcdiag, nslookup and check the DNS that it own the active directory zones.
    Re-add the XP to the domain
