  • Can't See My Web Site

    Hello,

I'm hosting my own website at home and I'm using Front Page 2003 to create it. I have published it to test it and see if people can see it, but it didn't work. I have a top level domain name and I have iit registered with dnsexit.com. I'm also using a dynamic dns software that can update my ip. When I put the web site address, I get the "error that can not be found" .
I have configured my router to forward it the request from port 80 to the appropiate ip and sitll doesn't work.

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks!

Does your ISP block port 80?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

no, my isp doesn't block port 80. I used this web site https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 to test port 80 and is open.

Can you access the site from a different PC IN your home? Different as in NOT the PC that is hosting the site.

Yes, but I can only access if I use http://mymainframeserver.com and not using http://www.mymainframeserver.com. Why is that? When I published, I didn't include the "WWW". Could that be the reason? And also it asked me my user name and password to be able to see the web site. I need to disable that, can you tell me how?

          Thanks!

Re: Can't See My Web Site

Possibly a silly question, but do you have an external DNS record for www.yourdomain.com and is handled by your dynamic DNS service?
