  • Setting up a proper Performance Baseline Win 2k and 2k3

I need to create a Performance Baseline for Win 2k and 2k3 Servers. I there a basic set of counters to use and or is there a best practice set to use in a specific configuration? This will be used to create a baseline for a server prior to users connecting to an application hosted on these servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have searched Google, Microsoft and forums and found how to setup monitoring but not what specifically should be used or a base set to start from. I know Memory, Disk I/O, Pagefile, CPU, Network, I just donít know what counters to use. Any ideas for a good solid base that can be used across the board?

    Thanks,

Re: Setting up a proper Performance Baseline Win 2k and 2k3

After further investigation I found this site:

    http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/HealthCheck

At the bottom of the page are links to checking

    Memory
    Processor
    Disk
    Network
    Exchange Counters

In case anyone else needs this information. This seems to be as close as I can get to what I was looking for. If anyone else has something better please post.

    Thanks,
