cant ping

  • cant ping

    just got my domain registered

    if i ping www.domain.com - works fine. points to my public ip
    if i ping domain.com - cant find host domain.ph

    help

    You might need to setup the A record for "domain.com". If you have your DNS info "parked" with your registrar's name servers then I'm sure you can log on to their web site and configure you DNS. You'll want to check to see if "domain.com" is pointing to your public IP in addition to "www.domain.com". You can also usually configure a catch all so that "anything you type*.domain.com" all goes to the same place.

          You need to add an entry for "company.com".

          e.g.
          company.com IN A 202.138.184.115

          ...and to do the catch all it's usually
          *.comany.com IN A 202.138.184.115
          but you'll need to check with your provider.
