  • file permission

    Hello,

I have been asked if is possible to set some special permission for some MS Office (2000/ 2003) file wich will be shared on our network:
Mainly for those file the users should have acces to read the content of the file but not to print, copy or modify the content. Also the copy of the file should not to be allowed.
We have a server with Windows 2003 and some station with Windows 98/200/XP Pro.

Because of this requirements I have not yet found a solution for problem ( if I gave access to the file then there is no way in which I can gurantee that the file is not copied)

    Thank you for your help!

    Re: file permission

    Hello,
You should review Microsoft Windows Rights Management Services.
It can help you implementing the security required by your company management.

It easy to implement the restrictions regarding to modify and printing but it is more difficult to lock down the copy capability.
