  • Looking for a way to limit RADIUS clients in IAS

We use IAS here as a RADIUS server to authenticate wireless clients.
We've got over 50 access points, and some locations have multiple AP's, on different channels, which was supposed to share the load, as 32 clients associated with one AP slows things down considerably

Problem is, every client in a room will latch onto the strongest signal, no matter how many are already connected.

Was just wondering if there is a way within IAS to limit the number of computers/users granted access per RADIUS client?

Or is it something that would have to be set on each access point?
They're Cisco Aironet 1121's (and a few 1130's), and although I have had a look in the configs for them, I cant find anything to limit clients

I have been trying to do a similar thing. I have been trying to follow this article with little success. Would you care to share how you are using Radius to authenticate wireless clients on your network?

You might want to redirect this question to the new Cisco forum, David Davis might be able to help you.

We do it the same way it looks like you are trying to do

I had the exact same problem at one point with the certificate, whatever I requested and installed, it wouldnt let me get to the PEAP Properties

It was a while ago, but I think on the Advanced Certificate request screen, I needed to tick 'store certificate in local computer store'

If it wasnt that, it was something else about the cert being for a machine, but I cant find any other option now
