  • MY network places windows 2003 server

I have a problem which i can't recall what causes it.

We have two servers both w2k3, we rebooted them this weekend after updating, since which one server is not visible in my networking places.

Local users (on NT boxes) can't connect to the non visible server, but can connect to the other (mail)

They can ping both servers by name and ip. ?

I have read this before but can't remember the issue !!

    Thanking you in advance

as our friend said, it seems to be some kind of a netbios problem.
try to restart the netlogon service and computer browser service, disable/enable network adapter.

is this server a DC ? what error message do u get when u try to connect to it via network ?

        this is a DC,

        Netbios was disabled. ?!

After changes made on server, although it has not rebooted yet, the NT users are now able to access services normally.

          good to know...

if it happens again after reboot check event log to see what is causing the problem...
