  • How to modify several OU's using LDIFDE

    Hi guys

I have a problem. I made a file call MODIOU.txt with this content.

    dn: OU=,DC=CORP1,DC=NWTRADERS1,DC=MSFT
    changetype: modify
    replace: description
    description: New Description

    dn: OU=Module3,OU=2279,DC=CORP1,DC=NWTRADERS1,DC=MSFT
    changetype: modify
    replace: description
    description: Another Description
    -

And the LDIF shows an error.

    Connecting to "DC1.corp1.nwtraders1.msft"
Logging in as current user using SSPI
    Importing directory from file "ModiOU.txt"
    Loading entries.
There is a syntax error in the input file
Failed on line 6. The last token starts with 'd'.
    0 entries modified successfully.
An error has occurred in the program
No log files were written. In order to generate a log file, please
specify the log file path via the -j option.

Someone can give me a hand with this?

    Thanks.

Re: How to modify several OU's using LDIFDE

    but ofcourse

the problem on your line 6 is that you used the value of DN for the same object twice. i am not sure what exactly did you try to do here (create an OU/modify and exisiting OU) but you whatever you did, you got the syntax wrong.

check this link for help with writing AD LDIFDE files....

    Hope it helps.
