  • W2K3 SP1 breaks RIS

    Hi,

I have a Win2K3 server and up until recently was running RIS to setup workstations (Dell GX270's). I installed SP1 on the server and when I went to try and use RIS I got the following message

"The operating system image you selected does not contain the necessary drivers for your network adapter"

I removed SP1 and ran windows update to install all updates except for SP1 and it is working again. Has anyone had similar experience?

My apologies if this has been addressed previously, the search function here thinks that RIS is too common or a too short a word to search on

    Regards

    Dave.

    1. Upgrade the server drivers & BIOS.

    2. Review:

      Thanks Yuval,

823658 applies to W2K3 servers that have not been updated to SP1. It is included in SP1. I am a little sceptical about updating the server BIOS as it works without SP1.

      thanks for your response though.

        Re: W2K3 SP1 breaks RIS

Did you try reinstalling RIS after SP1 was installed?
        1 1 was a racehorse.
        2 2 was 1 2.

No I must admit I haven't tried that - sounds like a plan.
