  • 2000/2003 domain question

i have a mixed group of servers of 2000 and 2003.
is my domain technically a 2000 or 2003?
the schema master is a 2000 box.
is it worth my while to change the schema to 2003?
the 2003 server is offsite and we connect via vpn. it s a decent connection

    Re: 2000/2003 domain question

If the domain functional level is set to mixed then technically its a 2000

      Re: 2000/2003 domain question

thanks. so until i add at least one more 2003 server and elevate the domain to 2003, (cause i essentially will lower the 2000 servers to non dc) i am stuck with a 2000 domain.
      thanks

        Re: 2000/2003 domain question

Be aware not to raise your function level.then you will miss your connection with Server2000.
