  • ISA Server : creating a client set based on computer name.

    hi all,

enviorment is : sbs2000 (inc exchange, isa) , mcafee av.

the question is i want to restrict internet access to some of my user,
the method i know today is that i need to creat a client adress set inside isa and assign to each set the user name and his ip, and to do so i need in advance to give the user computer a sepecific ip.
i want to be able to still using my dhcp and prevent internet acess by on computer name level. (not ip). can i creat a deny role that depend on computer name in domain ?
is there a better way to prevent specific users to access internet using isa 2000?

    thank.

    There few options:

    1. Set the DHCP to use reservation so you can include IP range.
    2. Install FW client on each users computer and use authentication
    rules to allow surfing.
