  • Restricting File Types

    hi just wondering does anyone know of a way of restricting file types.

    basically i work in a school,
    i want to stop the students from saving .exe, .mp3, etc in there user area's

    before anyone say's RC2
    i know that this is a new feature in server 2003 RC2 but i dont think that im going to get a chance to upgrade for a while.

    Veritas storage exec (Or symantic as it is now known) does just that. We use it in our college environment.

        could look at software restriction policys might not stop them saving those file types but you can stop them running them.
