  • connecting linux (static ip) with win 2k3 server

I am new to this forum, but i am learning a lot from these type of forums

Actually, i got a windows 2k3 box serving 5 clients (dhcp clients) routing enabled, no problem with this setup

    i decided to add,

1 system with windows xp - static ip
1 system with linux - dhcp

now, my xp machine could happily connect to internet (thanks to this forum, after browsing thru forum, i could able to configure this and able to connect to the internet)

but, my linux box having static ip could not connect to the internet, but when it is a dhcp client, it could able to connect to the internet.

please help, thanking you in advance

Did you set the Gateway IP on the linux box correctly when you used static IP?

Please run "setup" commnad on the Linux box and verify correct IP settings (DNS, Default Gateway etc.). The DNS server should be the local DC.
