  • DNS - reverse lookup problem

    Hallo.

I have installed Windows Server 2003 - DNS runs on the DC. I have reconfigured DNS because of unknown DNS entries.

Testing funktionality with nslookup is successful - also for reverse lookup. But testing in properties-tab on my dns-server reverse lookup fails. I started debug-log and found the following error:

Without additional information I can't be positive but it sounds like you're missing the SRV record.

You can try using ipconfig /registerdns to atempt to re-register the server in DNS. Also try running DCDiag and NetDiag to ensure that all of the proper AD and DNS records are in place.
