  • Upgrade from 2003 to 2008r2

    Hello

We are running windows Server 2003 SP2 install, I have been trying to upgrade this to windows server 2008r2. I have followed the instruction but When I come to reboot I get the blue screen of death!!! The server is an Citrix VM with 80GB on c and 50 on drive D
    Could that cause a problem?

    regards,

    Jason

You cannot upgrade cross architecture, so since 2008R2 is 64-bit only, confirm your 2003 is the same

IMHO do a clean install as much less likely to cause problems, although it sounds as if you already have them!

Could not agree more with doing a clean install. Of course that means having to reinstall and reconfigure your software, but it's worth it if the OS running behind it is more stable.
