  • SBS2003 Trying to configure a IMAP or POP3 emails

    Hello

I am new to this forum and i have been searching in this forum and others but i haven't found a solution.

I have a SBS2003 i am using exchange for my emails, I am using a proxy for the users, so i need to add the port and IP to IE or Firefox.

I want to setup on Thunderbird or outlook an IMAP or POP3 email from BLUEHOST, when i add the info from them to a computer inside the proxy i am unable to go out and set it up. if i connect directly to the NET i am able to do it, i just want to know why is not letting me, i see that the ports for it to work are open.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You need to add the domain(s)/IP addresses as exceptions if you don't want them going through the proxy.

Should be under User Configuration\Windows Settings\Internet Explorer Maintenance\Connection

OK i am there and the funny part is all that is blank...

Hmmm if that is not enable and the users are using a proxy, where could be that configured then?

            Thanks

Re: SBS2003 Trying to configure a IMAP or POP3 emails

There could be any number of policies configured for the domain. It also could be configured with a script, or manually, or so other way.

You could run the Resultant Set of Policy Wizard to see if any policy is apply the setting and then change that policy accordingly.

In the group policy management console on the SBS server is the wizard.

                  Also, here's instructions:
