  • Force my computer, internet explorer, my documents icons on desktop

I was wondering is there a way of forcing the "my computer, my documents, internet explorer, etc" icons to stay on the desktop in Windows XP connected to a domain. When a user logs in the desktop is blank and I wish to put those icons on there along with others. Ive tried through group policy to unhide my computer icon etc but it still doesnt show it on desktop. Any ideas?? Thanks

    yes,

    1. Logon into the computer localy by the Administrator.
    2. Go to Copy the complete C:\Documents and Settings\habibalby "Profile"
    3. Add the Domain username to the poweruser group.
    4. Give the Domain Username full Control permission on the Drive that the profile copies, either in C:\ or D:\ .
    5. Logon into the Domain by the username and paste the profile into the new location.

    5. Configuer the .pst email files to into the new location that the profile pasted.

    6. Logoff and Logon again.

    7. Your Done!

If u requier any further help, please ask.
