If this is the contents of Active Directory, just join the new one to the domain, promote it to an additional DC and then let replication take its course.

Are you installing again on the same hardware?

Yes. Then install a virtualisation platform, Virtual PC, VMware Workstation on a desktop system then do what Tom says and install, add to domain then promote and let replication occur.

Transfer the FSMO roles to the virtual box.

DCpromo the old server to a member server and remove from the domain.

Re-install OS on same hardware, add to domain then promote and let replication occur.

        thanks wullieb1 for your suggestions.

I've installed a test windows 2003 server in a virtual environment and successfully replicated the users and computers. But while I want to remove that test windows 2003 server from the forest with 'dcpromo'; I get the following error msg

        The operation failed because

Active Directory could not transfer the ramaining data in
        directory partition CN=Schema, CN=Configuration, DC=*****,DC=COM
        to domain controller ########.com.

        The RPC server is unavailable.

        Please Help.

If you are sure the test DC will never, ever, come back up on the live domain, you can force removal:
