  • Time Sync

Whenever a Windows 2003 server is restarted the time is incorrect by 6 hours. We update it manually and then when we restart the time changes again. It is causing some issues with applications on site. Do you have any suggestions on where or what we should look at to correct this.

Is it just one server that has this problem?
        It is a virtual machine(s)?
Is the server(s) member of a domain?

If it is exactly a 6 hours time difference, it mostlikely is caused by an incorrectly configured time zone somewhere.

What was he path of that registry key and what have you changed there?

Have you checked the event viewer for time service errors?

What result you get from the two commands below, launced from the Win2k3 server?
        w32tm.exe /query /status
        w32tm.exe /monitor

        /Rems
