  • NTBackup

    Hi All,

I have Windows Server 2003 Ent. Edition.

I have promoted domain on this server and is the primary domain controller.

I use NTBackup to take backup of my data.

Everything was working fine but in the NTBackup report it shows some error.

    error is as follows:

Warning: Unable to open "c:\windows\SYSVOL\domain\DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreI nstall_Directory" - skipped.
Reason: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Backup is completed successfully, but it shows the above message.

Please help me. I m in desperate help from you.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: NTBackup

Ok firstly, there is no such thing as PDC in Active Directory. And a quick google would reveal a MS KB for this problem:;en-us;822132

It basically says it will try to back it up.... but it can't, thats expected so don't worry about it. You could exclude this folder in the backup to stop getting the error message.
