  • After domain rename, workstations unable to log on

    Good morning.

Next week I am executing a domain name change in a 2003 environment. 3 servers, 1 domain controller and 75 workstations both XP and 7. I've setup a virtual test environment with 2 servers (1 DC 1 member server) and 1 XP workstation. Using the member server as the control station, I've successfully changed the domain. Both servers are now logging in using the new domain and group policy manager reflects the new domain. I've rebooted the XP workstation three times and still in the dropdown is the old domain name and if I try to log on manually (newdomain\user), I get the error "The system cannot log you on now because the domain is not available". Any ideas?
