  • How to copy Windows Share

    Hi All,

We use Fastcopy tool to copy data from one server to another. This copies the NTFS permissions.
Is there a way via which we can Share permissions as well instead applying them manually.

    Thanks
    Vaibhav

I usually use the File Server Migration toolkit, free download from Microsoft, for this.

Does RoboCopy actually copy SHARE permissions?

Roboycopy doesn't do a thing with shares, however you can simply export and import share information from the registry.
