  • DHCP - WINS Server settings

    Hi,
I believe that I have gotten the response to enable netbios over tcp for clients.
I give out wins servers via dhcp.
What option do I need to set for clients to enable netbios over tcp in the dhcp server?
    What is the wins/nbtnode type?

Do I need to enable netbios over tcp for member servers with statics to help with my computer browser server issues or is that unrelated?

Re: DHCP - WINS Server settings

Option 045 is the one on my server.

I have never seen this done via DHCP.

    Maybe i'm just lucky.

BTW on all XP clients, and 2000 as far as i can remember, the default is that Netbios over TCP/IP is enabled.

WINS servers are specified via option 044

Suggested node type in DNS/WINS environment is Hybrid and is configured by setting option 046 to 0x8

Yep, but he's asking for the option to set NetBIOS over TCP/IP
