  • Raid 5 clone to bigger drives

    HI,
Can anyone tell me the best way to clone a raid 5 set that currently has 3 * 36G SCSI drives, and is near capacity. I would like to clone to a new raid 5 set with 3 * 73GB SCSI drives or bigger

Any ideas on the best way to accomplish this

Re: Raid 5 clone to bigger drives

The easy way is to image the system out via Ghost server etc., remove the old disks, create new logical drive with bigger disks and then restore the image.
In case of problem you will have the orginal disks out side.

Note: To use large disks you may need to upgrade the server BIOS/Raid firmware.

Is it a system partition or data only partition ?
