  • Windows 2000 server to Windows 2003?

I currently have a Windows 2000 server and I bought a Windows 2003 server. I want to transfer all of the information (users, computers, etc.) from my old server 2000 to my new server 2003. Can anyone help?

    Please follow the below steps:
1 : Take a backup of Windows 2000 Domain controller (All the drices and the System State)
2 : Make the Schema changes with adprep /forestprep and adprep /domainprep from the W2K3 CD.
3 : Install Win2K3 as a member server in your domain. Promote it to
DC and make sure you move all your services (DNS,WINS, DHCP etc..) you have
on your current W2K DC and all of your data (if any).
4 : When the new W2K3 DC are finished with the replication, transfer the FSMO roles and demote your current W2K DC.

    Hope this helps...
