  • W2K SP4 SLIPSTREAM fail asking for A:

    Hi all,

my experience working with MS OS is a bit limited because of I spent more than 15 years working with Unix (now Linux) only.

Now I need to create a Bootable CD with my Original MS Windows 2000 and SP4 (italian localized version) - which I downloaded from microsoft web site.

I've followed all the instructions here: http://www.petri.com/windows_2000_xp...pstreaming.htm

Despite the fact that the procedure has terminated without errors, the CD boots at the booting time, but it also stops after few seconds asking the user for something which sounds so strange to me:

    Installation of Windows 2000
    ====================

    Insert the disk
    CD Service Pack 4
    in the unit A:
    Press ENTER when ready.

Why it need a FLOPPY DISK?

Obviously no way to use it!

Any idea for stupid problem I have?
    Many thanks to my readers!

Please try to use service pack with italian localized version support or another italian localized version of installation cd.

Using Daniel's article, did you try The Easy Way or The Hard Way?
        1 1 was a racehorse.
        2 2 was 1 2.
        1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
        2 2 1 1 2

          Well,
I tried many different solutions (either easy and hard ways). Actually I am trying to burn another CD with W2K and SP4 with the easy way.

          Tnx

            google for autostreamer or nlite.
            those applications can help you.

i've tried it in english and dutch versions.
