Windows Update Icon Missing In System Tray if i'm logged on as a domain admin

If logged on as local admin it's shown!?

    The setup:
-Windows 2003 std. edition with sp2
    -Role: Citrixs app. srv.
-WinUpdates via WSUS server, and distr. via GPO (Auto download and notify for install)

-When investigating this topic, I look in the eventlog and all WU are shown in here.
    -Stopped wuauserv
    -In a CMD:
    regsvr32 wuapi.dll
    regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
    regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
    regsvr32 wucltui.dll
    regsvr32 wups.dll
    regsvr32 wups2.dll
    regsvr32 wuweb.dll
    -Started wuauserv

    No difference...

Hope somebody has a usefull input.

there's a group policy setting that makes this occur.

    it's something like "don't display for non-admins"

I forget exactly what and where, but I know for sure it's there somewhere

      Tehcamel is right.

I've done this few days ago.

      As MS said:

To allow non-administrators to receive update notifications
      1. In Group Policy Object Editor, expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand Windows Components, and then click Windows Update.
      2. In the details pane, click Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications, and set the option.
      3. Click OK.

Re: Windows Update Icon Missing In System Tray

        Hello

Thx for the respond, Tehcamel & Kojo1984.

The domain admin account which I use to login, is a member of local admins!
Anyway, I changed the GPO and enable "Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications" and let the member server recive the gpo update - but I still missing the notification icon (I checked gpresult on member srv, and the gpo was applied)

I'm only getting the notification icon in taskbar, when i'm login as the local administrator
