  • Little help, migrate DC/AD W2k3 to W2k8.

Hello friends I'm in doubt about an upgraded version of the DC / AD W2K3 to W2K8 R2,would help to migrate my current domain to W2003 to 2008 R2. I would be grateful iffriends help with documentation, step by step and the like.

    Thanks.

SO you are migrating your DCs and exchange at the same time?
    Have fun

    IMHO get AD done first:
    ADPREP from 2008 R2 media
    Build new 2008R2 machines
    Install ADDS role
    DCPROMO
Install DNS (AD integrated), DHCP and anything else
    Move FSMOs from old DCs
    Uninstall DNS, DHCP etc.
DCPROMO old DCs to remove them as domain controllers
    Decommission old DCs

    Simples

Solve your problems first, rather than introducing anything new
Start a new thread for your current replication issues and someone will be able to help

Best practice is to use a new name for the DC but you can rename it later -- there is an article on the main site about this
