  • build second server as cluster

    Hi

    i would like to know how can i build (if possible) a second server as cluster on hyper v/ esxi

    i have one print server DL360 and i would like to build a cluster enivr. for it
    so that i will have a DR plan for it
    (it will will work i would run it also for my file server)

    can some one send me some links or info

    You need to define your project more clearly
    Are you wanting to:
    a) Run HyperV on a physical cluster
    or
    b) Run a virtual cluster under HyperV ?
    (or ESX as the case may be)

      none ,

      i have one physical server that is working as print server , i would like to add another server to act as cluster , from one server as print server
      i need to have two servers in cluster mode to act as print servers

        Clustering Server 2003 is not that hard, but there are quite many pre-requirements. For starter, you need identical hardware configuration for all the cluster nodes. So if all you got is a single server or two different servers, you are out of luck.

        You could implement clustering easily enough by using Virtual Server 2005R2, as in VS you can share a SCSI bus. For VMWare and Hyper-V, you need to use iSCSI for shared storage.
