  • Grey Screen After login to console session

    Hi all,

    I have server 2003 R2 on a HP ML350 G5.
2 weeks ago I tried to RDP in console switch, when typing the admin pass and press enter I got a grey screen and nothing happend.
when i RDP with no console switch everything looks good.
I tried to reset the system but it was stuck maybe because the console session is not responding.
I went for hard reset and when the system was up the console worked fine.
the server work with no problem when the console was stuck and no event was written in the event viewer.
after a few days the problem of a not responding console screen went back.

the system is a DC,DNC,WINS,BACKUPEXEC, SQL, SBO, file and print server.

    Please advise about this problem.

    Thanks,

    Roey.

Do you have your server reboot at a regular interval?

I've found BackupExec likes to get "stuck" and never lets go of the RAM. The job finishes correctly for me, but the next job would fail.

      yes,

The reboot takes in a normal interval.
All the jobs in backupexec finished successfuly.

I can connect via rdp to regular session while the console session is not reponding and I can see in task manager that the memory and cpu are normal.

I"m trying to contact HP support to see if this problem can be related to hardware issue.

      Best Regardes,

      Roey.
