  • How to monitor file size changes ?

    Hello,

We are generating sitemaps automatically 3 times a week for indexing at Google.
Our web server is a windows 2003 web edition 32 Bit with default file allocation size unit.

I would like to monitor the File sizes of the sitemaps automatically generated and send email when these files size changes.

We also using PRTG to monitor our website but it does not know to monitor these kind of issue. I also had some despondence with PRTG support on this issue.

Can anybody Help with a solution ?

    Thanks

For periodic monitoring, just write a script that records file sizes and looks for changes.

If you need a near real-time monitoring, you need something akin .Net System.Io.FileSystemWatcher class to monitor the filesystem. Simple enough to roll your own soluition with Powershell or CS.
