  • Non-Admin Users and IIS

    Mixed Mode 2000/2003
    IIS 5.0/6.0

Hi, i have a non-admin user who is needing to play around with IIS permissions, properties and the default sites etc...

I can add the user to the local admin group and this allows him to make whatever changes he likes but its not good from an admin point of view as im not sure where i have set permissions two of the servers are Domain Controllers

I know you can set the Operators in IIS 5 but again this is set per-server which i dont like.

I was thinking more along the lines of creating a security group and Delegating Control of the IIS servers. But i dont know what scope of objects and what scope of permissions i need to give them to be able to do their job without giving them too much power.

Anyone else have this problem or does anyone know of an easy solution?

    this post seems pretty matter-of-fact:
