  • IBM x336 and ghost

    Hi everyone --

My company recently began purchasing IBM servers (x336) and finally upgraded our ghost suite to 8.2. Upon building my first x336 with Windows 2003 and I ran sysprep on it to prepare it for the imaging process....I created the boot disks, started up my ghostcast server and all was fine. I went through the process of connecting it to the server, but when I selected the source disk it locked up on me.

I've upgraded all firmware on the server, and it's currently setup on a serveRAID 6m, with a RAID 1 setup on 2 75GB disks. I've called symantec and they were of no help, and IBM was just a pain. I'm hoping someone else out there has had a similar issue with a fix.

    Let me know --

Yeah, I saw that technote as well and Symantec said that 8.2 does work with Windows 2003. Either that or I'm getting the run around.

And in case someone was wondering -- I've used just about every switch I could think of.

One thing to note: I tried using an earlier version (7.2) and got the logfile not flushed error, in which it asks you to use the -NTIL (can't remember exactly if that was it) switch, and that didn't work. But at least 7.2 gave me some sort of error.

I seem to remember something about Ghost and RAID problems. Can't remember what it was but it might be worth trying Ghost 9. Sorry, that is all I can remember at this time.
