Server Downgrade

    hi All.

    I have server 2003 standart edition with SQL2000 on it.

    i need to downgrade this server to Server 2000.

    can i do it somehow without formating and installing the whole deal from the beginning ?

    Something I have never heard of but as far as I know it's not possible.

    Looks like you'll have to do a full install of win2k

        lincening problem, cuz i have a 2k3 server in 2k domain i need 2 buy cals for it, otherwise if i keep the domain with 2k member server i wont .

        so iv been told at microsoft customer service.

          Have the following been considered;
          *Mainstream support Windows 2000 has ended. It is now in the Extended phase.
          *What is the cost of the 2003 CALs compared to what it is going to cost the rebuild and configuration of the server, it's downtime, client disruption AND the eventual rebuild when 2000 is finally put to rest? Then CALs will need to be purchased anyway.
          *Is SQL 2005 going to run on Windows 2000 (incase of an SQL upgrade)?
