  • Moving xp to workgroup. Domain is down.

    The domain is down.
How do I move the computers back to workgroup?

Small company. No need for the domain and the server fails to work
    anyway.

    Thanks

Re: Moving xp to workgroup. Domain is down.

    Right click My Computer
    Properties
    Computer Name
    Change to workgroup

Make sure you know the local admin password first

IMHO, unless you have very few users, the benfits of having a domain make it worthwhile fixing things. After all, you have bought the server licenses and CALs already

Small company, no need for a domain, how many times have I heard that one?

Why am I suddenly rewriting a Monty Python sketch in my head?

@talco, I'd strongly advise you to reconsider doing away with a server. Unless your company's work doesn't involve storing any data at all, you're going to take a step back to having work scattered accross peoples computers. Surely centralised backup alone is motivation to keep a server in place.
