  • DFS Replication Timing Win2K3 R2 -> Win2K8

    Hi All,

    Not sure which forum section this post should go. So if this not correct mods please move.

    I am doing some testing with a replica of our Win2K3 R2 based file server using DFS-R to replicate data to a Win2K8 R2 file server. This is setup in our VMware test lab so both machines are virtual. The networking has been configured for the Win2K3 R2 box to be in one AD site and the Win2K8 file server is in a second site. All communications at least appear to be functioning correctly.

    I have created a test replication group to transfer a folder containing 140mb worth of data. That was four days ago and the Win2k3 box has only moved 8mb of data over to the Win2K8 server. Does that seem normal? I am not quite sure what time of performance I should be expecting as this is my first time setting up DFS-R. I do see that it is still staging files as in the DFSrPrivate\Staging folder on the Win2K8 box I see it still creating a folder structure.

    Any input would be greatly appreciated,

    -Jason
