  • Windows 2000 SRV and SMTP

    Hi Guys,

I am busy setting up a small (free) piece of helpdesk software. If your interested here is a link http://www.liberum.org/

The problem I am having is allowing the software to send mail to users relating to tickets. The server has IIS installed but is not our mail exchange server.

What I want to know is if there is a way that when the .asp page tries to send a mail out it uses the default SMTP address (Which is localhost) which then forwards it onto out exchange server to deliver.

    Anyone know if this possible

    Thanks

    Michael

Have you tried setting the E-Mail Type to CDONTS?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

      Yeah but still dont work.

I got around it by using the following application http://www.aspemail.com/ - It allows you to send mail to a seperate SMTP server (our exchange server) instead of setting it up on the server where the application resides.

It's really just a .dll you have to register

Sorry - I forgot to reply yesterday
