  • Fault tolerance in Server 2003

I am trying to build some fault tolerance into a 2003 server network

I have added a second domain controller to my system and activated DNS on it and made it a global catalogue server.

Are there special ways I need to configure up DNS or add another (secondary?)DNS server here or elsewhere. If so what and how please.

Are there any other services I should activate to ensure that if one of the DC's is off - everything will carry on as normal.

Is there a list of best practice here perhaps?

    Thanks for any help.

Re: Fault tolerance in Server 2003

You may want to add WINS if you use it, and consider a split DHCP scope

Assuming DNS is AD integrated, you will not have to worry about replication so thats your DCs covered

What about fault tolerance on file servers and print servers?
