  • Redirecting user to its particular folder based on username on IIS 6.1

    Hi All,

I've created a sub directory inside C:\Inetpub\wwwroot like this:

    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot

    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\User1
    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\User2
    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\User3
    ...
    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\UserN

and then make it available to the outside world using http://download.domain.com/download/User(1/2/3/N)

how to actually make it simple and secure like: http://download.domain.com/User1 go directly into the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\User1 in the user browser ?

at the moment I've setup the NTFS folder permission to be not inheriting from the parent folder and disable directory browsing but right now i have to give the long URL, is there any way to do it using any means necessary ?

    Thanks.

have a look at creating a redirect.... you'd have to do it for each user though
