  • task scheduler enters into stopped state automatically

    Hi,

I have a Windows 2003 PDC running fine and using ntbackup I have scheduled for two normal backups. Till recently they were working fine but now it seems these scheduled tasks never run...i checked the errors and it said the task scheduler service is stopped.

I start the task scheduler do the startup type to Manual and start the service up...runs fine but after some random period it stops and puts the startup type to manual as well.

Eventually I have to run the missed tasks manually.

Any ideas as to why this can be happening?

    Regards.

It sounds like the task scheduler service is disabled via a domain level GP. Or it could be due to the account you have set have no permissions any longer to execute the task. Check to see what changes you made recently which could have resulted the current situation.
