  • Mapped network doesn't always connect

On our network we have a few computers that are running XP, and sometimes the mapped network shares will not connect on login. Reboot and login again and it works. Any ideas what causes this

Are the drives mapped through a logon script or are they mapped from the machine? Is this a server/client or peer-to-peer network? Is server/client, what is the server's O/S. If peer-to-peer, how many systems do you have running on the network?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Sorry I didn't give all the information: It is a client/server environment with server being a 2000 and the systems are XP's. The mapping is being done through login script.

perhaps you would like to try net use #: \\xxxxx /persistent command.

check on the command usage if you're not sure. I might make a spelling mistake or so ..
