  • W2k BSOD problem after emergency repair

    Hi Everyone,

I used to run w2k SP4 on my machine

system crashed, windows couldn't boot anymore, but suggested to use installation disk and use the emergency repair disk and R to repair windows 2000.

I did so and now I get a BSOD
    0x000007b Inaccessible boot device

I have a intel 925 mobo and I use the BIOS Raid 1.

I suppose that the intel raid needs SP4, but I killed the SP4 with my recovery attempt.

How can I install SP4 on a machine I cant boot and I only have a SP2 installation disk?

I tried than to integrate SP4 into my I386 installation directory, to make my own bootable SP4 disk, but there I get an other error, when I use UPDATE

Service Pack started with following command line: /s:c:\joke\winwin

x86GetSourceArchitecture: Invalid handle for file: C:\joke\sp4\i386\mp\dosnet.inf

The I386 directory is not updated, despite I get the message it was successfull.

I have attached the svcpack.txt to my post.

Anyone with a suggestion to my problem?

    Regards from Cape Town

Re: W2k BSOD problem after emergency repair

I managed to slipstream my w2k cd with sp4 and rollup 1 already and made a bootable cd, but it hasn't brought me the result I was looking for. (I still get the same BSOD).

Is there anyone with a good idea?

What can help to fix my w2k?

I just don't want to reinstall everything.

Are Repairing or installing over the top of the old installation?

Reparing doesn't fix it, I still get the BSOD "INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" and I can't install over the old one, as SETUP insists to delete my whole winnt directory before installation.
